Equipment

To facilitate our research we have a wide range of experimental and analytical equipment, from furnaces and autoclaves to conduct experiments, to microscopes equipped with heating-freezing stages, thermal analyzers, a gas chromotograph and a two UV-VIS spectrophotometers.  Additional facilities are available in the Department through the Geochemical Laboratory, the Electron Microprobe Microanalytical Facility, and Micro-XRD and LA-ICPMS Labs; elsewhere at McGill, we have access to the Facility for Electron Microscopy Research and equipment in the Chemistry Department.  In addition, McGilll is a partner in the extensive analytical facilities of Géotop, at the Université de Quebec à Montréal.
