Ph.D. Program
This program comprises:
- an approved program of courses selected in consultation with the student's academic adviser,
and approved by the Academic Standing Committee,
- a comprehensive oral examination at the end of the Ph.D. II year, and
- research leading to a Ph.D. thesis followed by an oral defense.
Highly qualified B.Sc. graduates may be admitted directly to the Ph.D. I year.
Students with the M. Sc. degree may be admitted to either the Ph.D. I or Ph.D. II year,
depending on their background. Students are required to take 18 credits of graduate course
study in the Ph.D. I year, and 6 credits plus a comprehensive oral examination in the Ph.D. II year.
There is no language requirement for the Ph.D. program.
